If you run a taxi service then you will be well aware of the negative impact COVID-19 has had on your business probably from the early part of 2020 until the last 2 or 3 weeks so far in 2021. It is only recently that you may have started to see an improvement in takings as pubs and restaurants have been able to fully open. The likes of sports stadiums, cinemas and theatres have started to re-open albeit on a reduced capacity. More people are returning to their offices to work albeit a lot will probably still spend 2 or 3 days a week working from home. Non-essential retail outlets are now open.

As there are more people out and about, it is quite possible that some of those individuals will need the services of a taxi to pick them up and take them to their destination. Of course, there will be others who do not feel confident in using a taxi as they feel that they may be at increased risk of catching the coronavirus.

Nevertheless, there is no doubt a lot more positivity within the taxi service sector that things are starting to improve. So, is now a good time to consider changing your existing taxi for a younger, second hand one?

Well, you will no doubt have read about the hundreds of taxis that are laid up in fields by taxi drivers who have gone out of business. Some of those vehicles may be available to purchase and with so many just sitting their doing nothing they may be available at a lower price than you would normally expect to have to pay for one. So, now may be a good time to find yourself a bargain. Whilst it is unfortunate that some taxi drivers may never be able to return to the business, those that have survived may be able to save themselves some money by buying a used taxi in the current economic climate.
