It is important for more than one reason that you keep your taxi clean. One of those reasons is that your fare paying passengers would much rather travel in a clean vehicle than a dirty one and are more likely to use your service again if the vehicle is spotless.
If you are in the financial position to do so then you might like to consider taking your taxi on a regular basis to be valeted inside and outside. However, in the current economic climate, it is quite possible that not too many taxi drivers are able to afford to do this so must resort to cleaning the vehicle themselves.
You will no doubt use your taxi an awful lot so it is likely to attract dirt more than a family car. Therefore it should be regularly cleaned.
Make sure that the outside is washed with soap and water and make sure it is polished to help maintain the bodywork. Remove any litter from the inside of the car checking after each passenger has left the taxi. Make sure that the taxi is vacuumed out as well and that all the windows are cleaned inside and outside. Carry an aerosol spray to freshen up the interior. Make sure that after washing the taxi that it is dried to avoid dirt sticking to a wet bodywork. Make sure that the tyres are blackened and the alloy wheels cleaned.
You should consider carrying a pack of baby wipes with you as they may prove invaluable and can be used for a variety of things such as wiping down surfaces.
You might like to mention to passengers that you do not want them to eat or drink in the taxi if it is a short journey. Obviously, if it is a long distance airport transfer then you may be agreeable to them eating and drinking.
We do hope that you have found the above to be of some assistance in keeping your taxi clean.
