As a taxi driver, you will no doubt pick up and drop off a variety of people on a daily basis. It could be that you are picking up a local family to take them to the airport for a 6am flight to Spain and pick them up from the airport a week later late in the evening to get them home again. You may pick up a couple on a Friday or Saturday night from their home to take them to a party and collect them in the early hours to get them back home.

However, have you considered transporting school children from their family homes in the morning to get them to the school they attend Monday to Friday and then collecting them in the afternoon to make the return trip? This could prove to be a regular, lucrative source of additional income that in the current economic climate is likely to a welcome source of funds.

At least you will know that there will not be a problem with payment if you are contracted by the appropriate authority in your locality. It is highly unlikely that you would not be paid for the work.

You may be surprised at how many school children are being picked up by taxis and taken to school so the work would hopefully be regular albeit during school term time i.e. your services would not be required in the school holidays.

It could provide you with alternative taxi work opportunities as you may find that some parents decide to use your service on a personal basis if they are going on holiday and need dropping off at the airport or railway station.

You would be picking up children in sociable hours i.e. perhaps 8am to take them to school and pick them up at say 3.15pm to bring them home. This would provide you with enough time to undertake other taxi work.
