As you will know, when you buy a new vehicle, as soon as you drive it out of the showroom it depreciates in value. However, if you purchase a second hand taxi then it does not drop in value as quickly as a new taxi does. So, this is an immediate benefit in buying a used taxi.

Ideally, you need to be looking out for a used taxi that has a low mileage. If it is not too old it may still have quite some time left on its warranty period. So, if it breaks down then you may not be faced with a bill running into hundreds of pounds to repair it.

If you are just setting up in business as a taxi driver then you will no doubt wish to keep your business outgoings as low as possible. If you need to sort out finance to buy a used taxi then your repayments are going to be lower than if you bought a new taxi as the purchase price of the used taxi is usually going to be less than that of a new one.

There are a number of companies that sell used taxis. One way to find some of them is by typing in something like ‘used taxis” into your Internet browser and a number of websites will appear that sell used taxis. You may want to buy a purpose built used taxi or you may want a standard saloon that can be used not only for your taxi business but also as a family saloon.

You will find that there is a wide selection of used taxis available to buy through the Internet. You may be able to pick one up with only say 1,000 miles on the clock or you could buy one with over 100,000 miles on the clock. Obviously, the lower mileage taxis will cost you more than those with a high mileage if you were comparing like for like as far as make and model is concerned.

So, if you are setting up a taxi business or are an established taxi driver and want to exchange your existing taxi for a low-mileage, used taxi, why not do some initial research via the Internet.
