Whilst it is probably unusual to find a cat on the back seat of your car when you get home from work it is possibly unheard of to discover a kitten in the engine of your vehicle. However, that is exactly what happened to a Welsh taxi driver recently who came upon a delightful kitten looking out of the engine grille of his taxi.

It is estimated that the kitten made a round trip of about 500 miles from a place in Wales that included a stop off at Bristol Airport.

The taxi driver concerned was no doubt surprised to say the least at making the discovery when he got back home in his taxi. Apparently, the kitten had disappeared from its home about a week previously so its owners were tracked down and are no doubt over the moon to be re-united with their beloved cat. They probably were working on the basis that they would never see their kitten again.

It is no doubt a mystery as to how the kitten managed to get into the engine compartment of the taxi. In order to get the cat out of the engine the taxi driver had to carefully remove the front bumper. The cat was taken to the vets for a check up and was found to be in good health despite its no doubt exhausting journey.

We suppose that is one way of avoiding to pay a taxi fare!

As the owner of two cats, the writer of this post does actually check inside his car to make sure one of them hasn’t jumped inside when the car door is opened. No, it has never happened yet but who knows it is something that may occur at some point in the future.

If you have an interesting story involving your taxi and one or more pets then why not let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.
